Can my car pass emissions with the check engine light on?
Usually not, an illuminated check engine light typically results in an automatic emissions failure, even if the car seems to run fine.
That's because the light signals a stored fault the test reads directly, often tied to the same systems emissions testing checks. Bring your vehicle to Heaven Sent Automotive in Franklin and we'll diagnose and clear the underlying issue before your test, so you're not paying for a retest you could have avoided.

What usually causes a car to fail emissions?
Most emissions failures come down to a few common culprits, a faulty oxygen sensor, a failing catalytic converter, an evaporative system leak, or a problem the check engine light is already flagging.
Older or poorly maintained vehicles are more likely to slip out of compliance over time. The expert
team at Heaven Sent Automotive can find out exactly why your vehicle failed and repair it so it passes on the retest.
